NEW YORK — Lil Wayne is offering a literary tour of his prison days.
The million-selling rapper has signed with Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, for the memoir Gone Till November. Hachette announced Thursday that the book will tell of his eight months spent at the Rikers Island complex on a gun possession charge. Scheduled to come out in November, two years after his release, the book will be an internal monologue, based on diaries he kept while in prison.
Born Dwayne Carter Jr., Lil Wayne had the best-selling album of 2008 with Tha Carter III, which won a best rap album Grammy.

06:49 PM on 01/12/2012He went to prison he made a book deal he hired a writer. Which part of this confuses you?
06:46 PM on 01/12/2012WOW....Lil Wayne writing a memior of his time in jail. Now that is some role model for all of our children to look up to.
Two words...Go
od Grief.
How about reading Starbucks CEO Howard Schultzs latest book "Onward" which described how he and his leadership team turned Srarbucks around....
11 hours ago( 9:14 AM)Unless that CEOs book states how he didnt take a backdoor deal to rise to the top its not worth reading. Not to mention Starbucks success is about 99.9% based on their marketing and NOT their product. Ask any real coffee buff, its not good.
06:24 PM on 01/12/2012Not surprising at all to me. Lil Wayne is actually an incredible smart guy. If you see him, hes a pretty small and nerdy looking too. I know the tats and attitude dont show it, but its why his music is so good. Ill be interested to read what he has to say and I hope its reflective of his intelligen
05:20 PM on 01/12/2012I hope someone else writes it. I cant tell you how many times Ive felt that some of his metaphors just dont really work....
05:00 PM on 01/12/2012Actually, Lil Wayne is a pretty smart guy. And youre, obviously, practicing the politics of envy. Why would you want to punish his success?
05:59 PM on 01/12/2012If you actually look at what hes saying and know why he wlil wayneent to prison, you couldnt possibly come to the decision that he is in any way intelligen
03:42 PM on 01/12/2012Seriously, if his short prison term gets a memoir, then I get one for all of my speeding tickets.
04:42 PM on 01/12/2012Because whats most popular always has the most intrinsic value. I should have remembered that.
